JN Music Academy

The purpose of JN Music Academy is to provide high quality Instrumental lessons to students in schools, colleges and other settings as well as privately run classes. Our teachers are free to focus on teaching and the schools we work with are facilitators of our lessons. We manage everything else from bookings and payments to cancellations and all queries. Our priority is that both our students and our teachers are happy and fulfilled with the lessons and placements.

Having learnt to play piano from a young age, it felt natural to want to perform and I took part in many music festivals across the south from the age of 8, including winning 'The Young Musician of the year' New Forest when I was 11. I then played in several bands over 15 years and regularly gigged as well as recording in the studio. I also worked as an accompanist, regularly working with singing workshops and concerts and as an exam accompanist for solo musicians. I also worked at a Ballet school in the New Forest as their regular weekly pianist and rehearsal and exam pianist. Alongside this, I began teaching when I was 17 and have continued with a strong student base ever since. After gaining two Piano performance diplomas, I started teaching in schools as a peripatetic. From infants just at the beginning of discovering how to play, through to colleges , helping students achieve higher grades and preparing for music college auditions, I've really enjoyed teaching all different age groups and levels. I currently have my own private student base as well as playing keyboards in a Jazz band.

I started my own Academy after realising that teachers can provide a much better quality of lesson if they don't have the responsibility of dealing with lesson admin. Arranging timetables, dealing with queries and arranging catch up lessons as well as chasing payments all detract from the job that we love. With JN Music Academy, our teachers are free to just teach and our students and parents have a direct line of contact with us and any queries or issues that arise are dealt with promptly.

Schools are also free of any admin that is associated with hosting our peripatetic teachers.
